BookBreak Reading Log Terms and Conditions

Agreement

These terms govern use of BookBreak Reading Log, a school reading log operated by BookBreaks LLC. By accessing the service, creating a staff account, accepting an invitation, or using student or family access links, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

School Use

BookBreak Reading Log is provided for schools, districts, teachers, students, and families to support reading activity tracking. School administrators are responsible for assigning staff access, uploading or approving rosters, and ensuring that use of the service follows school policies and applicable law.

Accounts and Access Links

Teachers and administrators must keep their credentials confidential and are responsible for activity under their accounts. Students and families use access links or codes and should not share them outside the intended family or school context.

Acceptable Use

• Use BookBreak Reading Log only for lawful school reading programs and related family communication.
• Do not upload false, harmful, unlawful, abusive, or privacy-invasive content.
• Do not attempt to bypass permissions, access another school’s data, disrupt the service, or reverse engineer the platform.
• Respect copyright and other intellectual property rights when entering book information, notes, or communications.

User Content and School Records

Reading logs, roster information, family contacts, challenge data, messages, and other school records remain controlled by the relevant school or district. You grant BookBreaks LLC the limited rights needed to host, process, secure, display, and support that information as part of the service.

Third-Party Services

BookBreak Reading Log may rely on trusted third-party providers for hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, or support. Links to external sites are provided for convenience and are governed by those providers’ own terms.

Changes and Availability

We may update the service or these terms from time to time. We work to keep BookBreak Reading Log reliable, but the service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, outages, or circumstances outside our control.

Disclaimer and Liability

BookBreak Reading Log is provided as an educational support tool. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookBreaks LLC disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

Termination

We may suspend or restrict access when needed to protect the service, comply with law, enforce these terms, or respond to a school or district request. Schools may request exports or deletion workflows according to their agreement and applicable law.
